Our son was due on July 13th, 2017. I’d like to point out that at 36 weeks pregnant our OB told me to take it easy to encourage him to stay in. We were afraid that he would arrive too soon! Well, it looks like our Little Bear took our pleas a little too seriously because he did not want to come out. We hit 40 weeks, and at the OB office we discussed induction. I was hoping I could go into labor on my own to avoid interventions, but – it didn’t quite work out that way. Dr. Lee...
Surprise! I bet you thought that you were done hearing from me…ha ha, you were wrong! So, I’m updating here because we’ve got 6ish weeks left over here. If it seems like time has flown by for you as the reader, it has over here too! For my video game nerds – you know how in Zelda: Majora’s Mask, you control the flow of time? Sometimes it feels like someone has played the “inverted song of time” (slow), and other times it feels like we’ve played the “song of double time”. It feels slower (to me) right now because the baby...
Okay, okay, I am a bit late in posting this. I’m sorry, it’s been really busy over here. We had our transfer on 10/25, and Dr. Cass was there to perform it! I had my same nurse who performed my ultrasound…again, THE WORST part of the whole thing is needing to pee but not being able to. There was a Nurse in the room who did not introduce herself to me, so as I got into the stirrups, I said, “Hi, I know we don’t know each other, but my name is Jen and this is my vagina.” Everyone laughed,...
I’m sorry I left you all hanging and in suspense, it has been really busy for me lately and I haven’t had time to update. I had my appointment on Saturday October 1st, and that cyst is GONE. Thank you to everyone who kept me in their thoughts while we waited to hear. This cycle is going to proceed as normal! I have an appointment to check my lining on October 12th, and they will teach me how to give my PIO (progesterone in oil) injections. These are intramuscular injections, instead of subcutaneous. If you’re wondering what that means, it...
As promised, here is my new set of protocol that I need to follow. Look at all the pretty colors! Somebody used every color in the highlighter pack…Anyway. It’s 5/29, so I began taking the Doxycycline which is an antibiotic that I will remain on until my egg transfer. The purpose for this is obvious, after any procedure they will prescribe antibiotics in order to ward off any possible infection. Tomorrow, I will take two tylenol with a small sip of water (this was stressed several times) at 7AM, and we will arrive for the appointment at 8:15AM, actual procedure will...
After being together for almost 10 years, my husband Dean and I have officially been diagnosed as an infertile couple. This means that our only option of conceiving a child together is through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). It has taken a long time and a lot of consideration for us to decide whether or not we wanted to share our story publicly, but the situation has changed in such a way that we cannot (and should not) remain silent any longer. Ever since I was a little girl, the only thing I ever dreamed of being was a mother. In...
